Oil in the gas will not make the truck not run.
If it was straight oil then it might, but not what I am assuming was 2 cycle mix, like for a weedwacker or chainsaw.
You have something else going on.
You need to check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail, on the passenger side of the engine is a tire valve looking thing.
With the key all the way on but the engine off press the valve, if fuel shoots across the room then fuel pressure is fine.
I dump my old 2 cycle gas into my truck all the time.

What you can do is avoid letting others screw up your Rover! You will do it enough by yourself.

Pull the plugs and see what they look like.

So there was motor oil mixed with gas?
Still should not be a problem.
It might start hard, but once it gets running it will be fine.
You may need to add more gas to dilute the mixture.
I do not know how much gas was already in your truck or how much oil was added.
5 qts, problem, 1 qt, no problem.

I would say at most 1.5 qts. and the tank was right above the red line and the gas with the oil was about 1 gallon and we got around 3 more gallons after that.

Add more gas and give it a few cranks to get the good stuff through the lines to the engine.

If it hasn't been replaced recently(within 8 months) I'd replace it.
