Chris-bob,

If you're talking to me, no Sunday Drive with the family. But she's finally getting to the point where I can trust she'll be able to get us through the entire sunday drive with no problems..

Thanks for asking :-)

In Peace and Agape,
Trav...

Practice your vocabulary skills...

Spray with a penetrating lubricant(pb blaster) and let sit overnight. Try the following with line wrenches, not open wrenches.

Im pretty sure Trav JUST wrote up how to drop the tank, it might even still be on page 2 or 3, you wont even have to search it....maybe it was dodger, whatever, it's there. Fuel filter for me sucked too. you know the old tightening adage "a quarter turn before it breaks"? Thats how hard i had to torque to get my filter OFF

Why wouldn't you just insert a hose into the tank through the filler and suction all the crap out? What crap are you worried about - I'm guessing the only problem is the oil. If you're worried about the pump, then attack the problem from that angle. Remove the pump assembly from the top, then insert a hose and suction from there. Clean up the pump and pickup and button it all back up.

Not sure why you'd need to drop a tank on a Disco for this problem.

Ok so I went to the auto store and got a gas transfer kit Because the hose I had Literally lasted as long as something you would expect from a dollar store, In which took out about 2 cups of gas/oil. but we emptied the tank and when I wake up I will be replacing the fuel filter, maybe clean the fuel pump then push it to the gas station and get half a tank mixed with fuel injector cleaner. I was getting mixed outcomes from everyone. like saying I needed to drop the tank and do all this stuff and got told that I was screwed but I figured Who knows Land Rovers better then everyone on this Lovely forum! Thanks everyone! I will post tomorrow on the results.

It works! took like 2 hours to change the filter Because one side was screwed in TIGHT. but after that I got towed to a gas station got some gas and fuel injector cleaner. then got towed home. took about 3 hours to start it. Thanks everyone. Lesson learned? ...NOONE touches my Land Rover..but me.

My fuel lines themselves as well as the body and clamp of the fuel filter had bacly corroded to the point of multiple leaks.

At worst case, you can cut it all out and replace it. I replaced my fuel lines all the way from from the top of the gas tank/fuel pump connections to the engine bay/fuel rail connections.

One 25 foot coli of 5/16 steel fuel tubing for about 25 bucks and I relocated a new fuel filter out of the wheel well to the side of the frame rail.
