oil leak
On early 3.9's that was held in with a snap-ring, small puck sealed with O-ring. On the newer engines it's a hammer in plug. It's a drilling to install the oil pressure bypass spring at the factory. First see if an auto parts palace has a plug that small and then pop out with a screw driver like you'd do for freeze plugs.

Depends how much it's leaking. Man if you got all your oil leaks down to just that we're ready for living on Mars. Funny how a tractor comes into the picture when talking about a Rover.
People tell me all the time that my Rover is leaking but I have to tell them is a Land Rover design. It is call constant flushing haha. Anyways you could remove the plug and tap that hole for a threaded brass plug since all it serves is an access for the spring.
Are you 100% sure the leak isn't coming from above and pooling in that plug? I had what looked like an identical situation on my 98 D1 and actually the leak was coming from the Oil Pressure switch, leaking out, and collecting in that plug area before dripping down the oil filter and finally the ground.
I found it by wiping the area completely dry, then driving it, shutting it off, and looking for a trail of oil and sure enough I could trace it back to the oil pressure switch Oring. I slapped on a new sensor for 15.00 and I have been leak free since. Just something to double check.

replaced the oil switch and oring to fix that leak last year, just rebuilt the engine 1k miles ago or a few weeks back depending on how you want to look at it lol and everything is clean and dry except that cap and its running down dripping off the filter , truck was on a lift so i could look real good
it will probly stay unless there is a chance it could blow out or i decide to pull the cover and do a cam later
