oil pressure relief valve
just replaced my oil pressure releif valve o ring that was leaking pretty bad, figured id do a little write up.
i was able to do this without removing a single thing from the truck or jacking it up.
first take you smartphone, turn on the flash and start a video. next use a pick to turn the holes of the snap ring to the 2oclock position, this is the only way my pliers had enough room. now while using ur phone to peer between the two oil lines like a Periscope , use your right angle snap ring pliers on the left side of the housing to release the ring. its a very tight squeeze but as im well over 6 foot i imagine someone shorter will have more room to maneuver there body up next to the motor. i was lucky and the spring pushed the plug right out. i then used a magnet to pull out the plunger/piston valve. clean it all up nice, re fit ur new oring(lowes part number 96744) and reinstall. if you are having trouble compressing the spring use a small screwdriver between the frame and the motor to push and hold in the cap. my o ring was in such bad shape it shattered like plastic. all in all this took me 15 minutes. make sure to clean the area nice before removal.

Nice write up. Good technique.
Only thing I'd do different is the o-ring. I'd buy a viton (brown) o-ring from the oringstore. They are rated for oil and higher temperature than most plumbing o-rings, like Lowes sells. I use viton for the oil cooler lines too. Suspect they will outlast me.
