resetting the adaptive values is not going to help bad compression

Haha I'm aware of that. I have an intermittent high idle that was brought up earlier. It's between my IAT reading differently from coolant sensor OR ecu needing reset. Since I can't find anyone that sells the IAT, I'm going to try a reset.

I "believe" all that is required to rest the adaptive values is to disconnect both battery cables and connect them together for a few minutes.
but wait and see what someone more knowlegable comes along.

That's a new one. I had the battery disconnected for over 2 years but that didn't work. I also tried the unplug, acc, replug, acc, etc. but that didn't work either.

More Knowledgeable' here.... nah, OBDII Disco's you cannot reset like the OBDI 94/95's. Right, the high idle thingy. I'd save a buck and wait until you get some answers from the shop that hacked your motor.

Finally got over to the performance shop. Only a honing was done since bore was within spec according to him. I asked about pulling and rechecking and he said we can if I want, but he recommends going a little while longer. He said he has seen rings take as long as the first oil change to seat. Nonetheless, it's my call and I wouldn't have to pay for anything but the bore if it's done. After I mentioned the ovaling from honing that was mentioned as common on here, he said that he hones the cylinders after boring to get a cross hatch anyways... Thoughts?

I'll run another compression test this weekend and finally get that leak down test accomplished

give him the 3000 miles then do a compression test, rings to have to seat.
with luck maybe number 6 will come up.

just keep track of how much oil you are using, and keep an eye on the oil so it isn't getting washed with gas.

Agreed. He's a pretty cool guy to work with. I'll be going to him to bills up my s2000 in the future. Now I'm trying to figure out why my lights are pulsing, voltage bouncing, rpms bouncing on deceleration, and water pump coming off... Ugh, I hate gremlins....
