mine is the clear version but that sounds very much like my problem.. i will start there... if i can find one that is... discos are hard to come by salvaged at least in NE TN. Thank you all.. i just got home from buying a new 195 degree thermostat and it came with a paper gasket although the one I took out didnt have a gasket.. looks like someone before me made a gasket with some type of apoxy.. on the engine side not the hose side.. should I attempt to put the paper gasket on.. it doesnt leak there now with no thermostat in the housing..

You need to scrap off all of the RTV that they used and then make sure it is dry and then use the paper gasket.

ok.. so i replaced the thermostat, and the radiator fill tank and bam...im back in buisness.. thank you all for the help... greatly appreciated

From my experience with my 98, it sounds like your radiator is clogged. Mine does the same thing...I'm looking for a radiator right now as I type....lol
