My panhard rod seems to have the bolt on the driver side inserted backwards with the nut facing forward. I checked RAVE and it shows the bolt heads should be forward with the nut behind.
The bolt is too long to be removed. Is there a way to remove the bolt without cutting it? I used a jack on the differential and on the radius arm on the driver side, but it doesn't move enough to allow removal of the bolt.
Am I missing something obvious? It looks like I may have to just sawzall the bolt to remove it. I purchased new bolts along with the panhard rod.
As you can tell I have a significant oil leak from the front main seal. I have the replacement Corteco seal, but I'm summoning the courage to tackle that project.

Should be able to either jack the frame and let the axle drop. I've seen em installed either way on that side of the panhard rod. Just depends on the lift or no lift, but a jack and allowing the axle to drop should give you room. Or just cut it off quickly n replace it since you have new bolts.
Thanks for the reply. No matter where I jacked the truck there still wasn't enough clearance to remove the bolt. I really wanted to figure it out since my sawzall blade was duller than a butter knife and I didn't want to make a trek to the store. I gave up, drove to the store, bought a Bosch sawzall blade made for cutting heavy metal and made quick work of that bolt. The new panhard rod didn't want to align correctly, so I had the little lady come out and wiggle the steering wheel while I jiggled the bolt into place. New panhard rod installation is complete.
I had this day set aside for Disco maintenance, but nothing seemed to go right. I removed the old coil array and was in the process of replacing the coils when I discovered that one of the coils I ordered was used and repackaged, another one had a broken bolt where the wire connects at the bottom, and I broke one of those bolts on a different coil. Only one coil has been installed, so Indy is disabled until I can get replacement coils. Sheesh.
