Default Parking pawl question

Gentlemen, have determined my parking pawl is malfunctioning. Coordinating local mechanic to square it away. Advised they would have to remove the transfer case to access it. Using the factory parts manual, I am ordering my own parts to keep from being gouged on parts cost.

Question(s) are: Has anyone done this before and if so, any words of wisdom?

In addition, are there any special seals or gaskets I should ensure to have on hand (based on the transfer case being removed)?

So far I have identified the following parts to order:

RTC4291 - rod, transmission
RCT4288 - Spring
RTC4658 - Lever, Cam
RTC4286 - Lever, Plate Detent
RTC4662 - Gear - Parking
RTC4308 - Spring, Pawl
RTC4307 - Pawl, Parking
RTC5212 - Plate Guide
RTC4663 - Plate Guide

Any advise/words of wisdom/pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Chuck

You can tighten it before tearing everything down

Thank you for the reply. That has already been checked and attempted by the mechanic. No telling if only one part needs to be fixed or how extensive the possible damage may be. Thus, I figure it would be the better part of valor to ensure I have all parts on hand to ensure my vehicle is down for the shortest amount of time. Also figure if only one part is bad, I'll have them go ahead and replace all components to ensure I'm not fronting additional funds to have it torn down again.

Just looking for advice on any additional components I have overlooked. All advice is greatly appreciated!
