looking for the two screws that go in the instrument cluster cover (above the steering wheel) to hold it onto the dash. anyone know the size or where to find them online? searched roverparts.com and couldn't find them.

Most likely the plastic is broken. I've seen people use longer screws with washers to help hold it.

 

yes the screws just go into speed clips, so with a new set of screws and speed clips you can pretty much go with any size that fits.

 

are those screws supposed to be flush with the cover? mine are recessed. and the whole shroud with the radio and fog light switches is a bit jiggly. have mine pulled thru?

 

They make this wonderful stuff that comes on a roll that will hold it in place. Usually silverish color, just try to keep the edges straight so it looks nice.

Also works great with plastic cable ties for when you run into that unexpected new date situation.

 

They are recessed, but they also may have pulled through. I've also seen the plastic break where it clips into the back of the dash, but that was on a disco that had the dash curling up.

 

You can use some longer wood screws actually. Add a drop of wood glue to the threads and it will help secure it but will still extract ok.

 

About 1 inch long black screw with small black washer did the job. Not recessed into the hole like it is supposed to be, but almost flush with the rest of it so still looks good.
