I gotta say I put a body lift into a truck (not a Rover) once, and while it wasn't painless, it wasn't too bad to install. The shorter shifters sucked, and I did it on a pickup, me and 5 friends lifted the cab, just a couple of us were able to lift the bed. I don't know how you'd lift a Disco body. And I would never put one in a daily driver again. Tons of squeaks and body motion...Unless you are hell bent on getting some really big tires I don't recommend it. Maybe some people had better luck than me, but I was pretty unhappy with it.
Not to mention the gross gaps in the wheel wells and the rear bumper.

 

If this is your DD, I would stick with what you have. Maybe some swaybar disconnects and relocation cones, depending on how much flex you want. These are perfect for hunting leases right out of the box. I went places the hunters I lease to are nervous about going with their Mule.. I am stock with 245/75 AT's. Just remember, the more you bolt on, the higher you make it, the larger the tires, the worse your MPG gets..

 

Yea, I put a body lift on a 4x4 Ranger had some customization to do but was happy with the product. I just found out this morning that the guy from mm-4x4 sent me a Defender lift kit. Apparently it will work as it installed ok and seems to drive fine. I only found out when I tried to put on the Steering Damper and it was wrong. A few emails later........" Oh,..you have a Discovery? Hmmm..."

Not to mention It came with zero instuctions so I'm sure that I put the rear springs on the front and the front springs on the rear. I'll switch them over the Christmas break.

 

does it matter on all kits? As far as I could tell all the springs in my super gaz lift were the same.

 

Yes the spring pound weight is different front to back even if they are the same height/length

 

im in houston from what i know the only close legal places for wheeling are splendora orv park and general sams 4x4 also the beach i have never been but once i get mine road worthy i will check them out. there is a offroad group on facebook "houston offroad enthusiast" open to all vehicles theres alot more info there

 

There is nothing like jumping into the middle of a modification totally unprepared. You end up spending mucho dollars and not even sure of what you're getting.
