Guys, anyone knows where i can find in USA Pipe Low Rad-Trans Disco I Auto: UBP 101030 ? It seems like every place is out of stock...i'm starting to leak from that hose like a duck out of the water, lol! I have on back order from Rovers North, but they don't have any ETA...

 

Where is it leaking from? The sensor on the line has a copper crush washer and I've seen them leak from there and of coarse the fluid will run down toward the engine making it look like the crimp on section is leaking. The last one of those lines I bought online was a Eurospare for 29.00. I had to massage the end by the bellhousing a bit to get the proper angle between the floor/transmission, but besides that it fit like a glove.

 

I see what you saying, but switch area is dry like a bone. I'm getting leaks from both hoses here (red arrows). I already have "coolant" hose, just can't find the other one. BTW, for the "coolant" hose, do you know if can i change it without draining whole coolant? That would save me some work...



I also have a problem on this hose, that one is coming from the top of the radiator on the driver side and then goes into the transmission cooler (I think this is ESR3695).

 

If push comes to shove, the ATF cooler hoses can be renewed at a hydraulic repair shop. I noticed the kit of three hoses from Roverparts is out of stock. The drips in the photo look like coolant, not ATF, so could be water pump or timing cover coolant leaks.... Some forum members, like me, run the trucks unpressurized to help prevent coolant leaks. Ensure coolant concentration, then simply loosen the reservoir cap to unpressurize the cooling system.

 

John, so both those hoses are moving oil only, right? I had some brain freeze and somehow i thought that coolant gets in one of these...i guess its because of that coolant stain.
Also, you are correct, this is 100% coolant in my picture. I don't have any leaks from the timing cover or the water pump - all is bone dry now. However, I did have large coolant spill when filling out the radiator after all the work done on the top of the engine...I left the open coolant jug on the top of the engine when looking for the different funnel, and my garage cat took that challenge to his heart, by knocking it out... lol, that was fun to clean it... i bet that some of that coolant went on those hoses and etc...

 

I feel sorry for who ever is going to take that oil pan off - and I wonder how much of that sealant is in the pick up tube...

 

Lol, i hear you, but i had no choice. Bottom of the engine had some scarf marks, i guess someone was removing that oil pan before me and they were not gentle. When i was putting it back on, i decided to roll with more sealant to cover those scratches...hey, it's not leaking oil, that's a win. I will be taking it apart soon anyway, because I have to change front engine cover anyway. My original one will go to the machine shop to smooth it out at the oil pump location - when i was changing oil pump gears, i noticed that cover has some marks from the worn out gears...this disco 1 doesn't have that many miles, just slightly over 125K, but i bet oil was changed maybe twice before i got it...I say this because of the amount of sludge i removed so far...I was literally scooping it with the spoon...just sad...everything else is just a consequence of poor maintenance or lack of it at all...ehh....

 

Yes, those hoses move ATF oil, all three you pictured, from transmission to radiator to front oil cooler, then back to transmission. I think that's the sequence, or maybe mixed up between radiator and oil cooler.

 

ok, i run i just run it today morning, i have another small leak in the radiator, then coolant drips at the hoses up front, and i guess when i'm driving, wind is just pushing / splashing coolant down. It's very small leak, but it's visible. I will try to fix original radiator in my local shop, we will see if they will take the job...fight continues! Ha!

 

Absolutely try to fix leaks without using a crazy amount of RTV/silicone. Those transmission cooler hoses are a pain and mine always leak a bit, as do the steering pump lines. ATF is a solid anti-corrosion fluid.

All that said please remember.... If it doesn't leak, it is empty!
