Plug Fouling 96 D1. All plugs.
That support my contention that Looks Bad but Runs Good is much more preferable than Looks Great but Runs Bad.
I'll take function over appearance anyday when it comes to Rovers.
With women, that may be a different story, however even there there is a lot to be said for function over beauty.
At least you got your Benz to fall back on. Love those W126's. Nice big body and a hell of a cruiser.

The MB's I have are a W124 (the 87) and a W123 (My 81) Both diesels. I'm looking to buy a TD right now, (the 123 or 124 wagon) The 87 version is fairly sought after due to it's extremely low original build numbers (about 1500 where made) and the fact they have the 6 cyl version of the turbo 603. (See Rocket ship)
But, 123 300TD's have a classier look to them and have that bullet proof OM617 turbo pulling them.
Both can be found in the 7 passenger version.
I miss my Benz. I am always looking on Craig's List and estate sales hoping to find a true cream puff. So many of those were totally awesome. I have seen some incredible 450 SL's and such running around here. There are also a very few various desirable early Benz's that have been passed down within the original buyers family that are totally amazing. I want to get my hands on such a beauty again someday. I am open to several different variants.
An elderly widow on the next block has both a 560SEL that her husband bought new and a 300SE that he bought for her. I already told her if she decides to sell one I am interested. I prefer the 560 but would happily take either as they are both from the original buyer and always maintained.

No progress to report. I called the shop, they have not even looked at it yet. said they would try and start on it this week... At this point I'm not expecting to see it again for a month...
Bought a 85 300CD yesterday. So, yet another car for me to play with. I actually bought it for the engine to do the swap, but it turns out the cars in way to nice nice of shape to part out. In 1 day I've had 4 separate offers on it to buy it and it's not even for sale.
But one guy did offer me a good engine PLUS another whole car for it a 300TD (wagon) which is a very tempting offer.
So right now I'm sitting here with an 81 300D, 85 300CD, and the 87 300D. I'm really liking these cars...

Take some pics of the MB's. I'd really like to see them. Not familar with the CD at all.
On the 81, I just finished all new breaks, all new front suspension, new starter, new power antenna, and a handful of other little things like switches etc.
The 85 300cd, just got new tires, getting a new window regulator, a couple vacuum pods for the heating air, a sunroof motor and again another handful of little things here and there. slated to head to the shop for a full redo of the body with new paint etc. It will be redone right, and is something I would like to start driving to some of the local car shows. I might be heading up in a couple weeks to pick up another CD, but an 84, to be used as a donor car for this ones rebuild. (With it's engine set aside for a possible swap into the my rover)
The 87 has had quite a bit of work done to it, currently over at the shop getting a new head gasket, and possibly a new head depending on the information I get back this week on it. It's being put together as a daily driver.
Oh, and the trash in the bottom right corner... damn dog tore open my garbage just before I got home with the CD and took the picture....
I love all three of them, especially the coupe. I have seen a couple of 560 coupes, but I would love one those CD's with a turbo six in it.
What price range was the 85 CD in? I would love one. I especially like the looks of those little yellow Euro version lights up front.
