1998 D1. Went to inspection station and had this code show up. Original gas cap was cracked in two spots so I went and bought a new one. Went back with new cap, cap passed pressure test but code still showed up. No check engine light. Drives perfectly fine.

Thoughts? Hose issue? I did a search and found only a few threads here. Thanks

 

If you download the gems_obs.pdf in my link it looks as though the system believes it is not able to pressure test the purge valve due to a small leak. Could be a vacuum line, a PCV line, or the purge valve itself.

The valve is not expensive.. .

The link you listed..does this particular one fit even though it says not compatible with the vehicle? I know sometimes parts fit because they are quirky British vehicles. Verifying before I place an order. Thanks again/.

 

Yes it will I have the exact part in my truck. You will not need the adaptor that it comes with.

 

Best4x4 suggests buying the original, not the Dorman. so here is the original if you like....
