Default Quarter Panel Corner

I am sure this has been discussed, but couldn't find specifics. Picking up a 97 this week coming up and the rear driver quarter panel corner that houses the taillight is dented in 2 spots. Noticed the phillips screws on the inner rear door that I can unscrew, but tried to put up a bit and cant get leverage. I saw several write ups on other sites and from RAVE that explain its just held on with mastic and the screws, but was kinda vague otherwise.

My question is how can I remove just the corner without removing the whole panel? Is there a trick to removing it?

I appreciate all help.

Hope you’ve got some of these.

Should most likely be a some sort of of plastic tabs you can’t see.

I would just grab-n-yank but hey that’s me.

Slow and steady if you don't want to permanently damage it. Remember, the truck is 24 years old now. 24 year old plastic bits and pieces.

Well, I got it off. Little screws in places I couldn’t see and random 10mm bolts in places I didn’t look. Came right off with help from a pry bar

Now onto getting another one

thanks for the replies
