Question about dana axles

So now it all makes sense. If you lock your diff but have a slipping tire all the power is transferred to the slipping wheel. If you have lockers in addition then you lock the entire driveline and diffs and there is no transfer of power. You get all your power to all 4 wheels all the time. Is that right?
Thats exactly right. If you have lockers in the front and rear and lock your CDL it doesnt matter if 3 wheels are slipping you will still get equal power to the 4th.
The only down fall unless you use a selectable locker like Okdisco says they can be miserable to drive on the street it makes turning harder because both tires are gonna want to travel the same speed. If you use a selectable locker like the ARB unit you wont notice any differance on the street if it is not engaged, then engage them on the trail or when traction is needed

Sweet. I think that is something I may look into down the line. Gotta get the suspension done, gonna have to rebuild my swivel ***** in a few months (nothing wrong I am just sure that they have had bad service for years and with my mileage probably needs to be done), need to redo brakes pretty soon also. First things first though I gotta get the water pump replaced so I can start driving her again.
