R380 - gear shifter sits all the way to the left?

If you pull off the plate under the plastic center console, and under any carpeting, you will get at the top of the trans. You can easily remove a little box that the shifter enters into. There you will see two springs, one on each side of the shifter, pushing into each other. The spring on the left has given out and ceases to spring, the spring on the right is pushing the shifter all the way over to the left.
I just replaced mine, got them off ebay, here's a link showing the springs.

I think that Optimusglen is on the right track with the shifter springs. I can shift into any gear without an issue. The shifter just seems to fall to one side when in neutral, as though there is no tension on the one side (probably due to the spring failing/breaking).

Finally completed this... never have the time, but it was fairly easy to accomplish. It turns out it was the bias plate that actually broke, and not the springs.
While everything was open I added extra grease to areas that required it like the Transfer Case shifter. All in all it took about 2-3 hours (don't recall).
I am amazed and impressed at how smoothly it shifts in to the gears now. Some pics to come up as well.

Below are some photos of the tear down to get to the BIAS plate. I had to drill the rivets out for the rubber seal.
You can see the broken part of the BIAS plate in the following photo below.
New plate installed, and you can see the unbroken plate in proper place.
All tidied up and put back together
