That Lexus is awesome! Why would you have bought a Lordy when you could have had a Land Cruiser?

I heard that 90% of Land Rovers are still on the road... The other 10% actually made it home. And when Disco owners grenade thier diffs, they upgrade to Toyota axles.

I'm only foolin' I like the Lordy!

Hey Doug, remember how I was gonna give you a ride home from South Dakota this weekend? Yeah...changed my mind. There is this a**hole with a Lexus that likes to park in front of my house...I think I am going to slash his tires and put sugar in his gas tank this weekend instead. :P

BTW, not that anyone asked...but the TreadWright Crawlers balanced fine and rode smooth all the way up to 65mph (fastest I have gone)...for the first 10 miles at least.

... hows the control difference? i just went from smalls to medium mt's and lost a bit of grip. bounces a little and wanders a bit when it didn't before. also seems to have slack in the steering. all steering is new tho. maybe i should check it.

It's hard to compare because I haven't owned it long enough to have a good feel for it (either before or after the lift/tires). Also, my daily driver is a "sports car", so any Discovery is going to feel like it handles like crap.

With that said, based on 1 day/10 miles of driving on the new setup, I did not notice a significant difference in on-road handling between the stock suspension with stock street tires, and the 2" MD lift, larger MT's and no rear sway bar. I do fear the day an emergency maneuver is required at highway speeds, but that is a concern with any SUV really.

Looks good! Question: Did you flip over the spare tire carrier? I have heard you pick up a couple inches of clearance by doing this... Bring that panel popper with you if/when you tackle this :-)

Is the clearance you are talking about between the spare tire and the tailgate? If so, I am not gonna worry about that I don't think (but appreciate the suggestion). It clears the tailgate fairly easily (at least 1/2"), and the higher the tire gets, the worse the visibility out the back.

Yes, I believe so. It increases the center height of the spare so a larger diameter will fir before rubbing on the top of the bumper...

My concern would be the very small clearance between the new tires and those old fenders!

The fenders will be trimmed before the truck leaves the pavement...I just put it on ramps to see how close it would get. Most of the trails out here still have too much snow to be passable right now anyway, so I have time.

As far as the spare, it clears now with a full size (235/85/16) spare, so I am not gonna worry about messing with the tire carrier. Unless I manage to warp the tailgate (entirely possible with me) I should be fine.
