Default Rear Upper Link A-frame Orientation

Hey gang,

I am just finished POR15ing and painting up my rear upper links for the A-frame. After pressing in the new bushing in one of the links I started to think about the orientation of the links. I am asking so that if anyone ever asks this question again one day it will pop up during a search. A brief google search didn’t pull anything up so I am hoping this will help someone out other than me one day.

The diagrams lacked a definitive answer.

When the links are bolted on. Which way do they go?

For reference I was going to say the bend in the links have an outside bend and an inside bend.

Meaning, do they bend up or bend down?

Including a picture of my current state of life…

Thanks,

Gordon Dean

That's a good looking truck. Always liked the white. I didn't see this post in time or I would have gone out and looked under mine.

Thanks! It is getting completed and might go to market on bring a trailer. I’m a little bummed about it but I can’t decide between the D2 and the D1 to keep.

If you can, drive both for a while and the choice will probably become obvious. I have two D1s, a 96 and a 94. I like the 94 with its simple mechanical distributor, so it's my keeper, even though the 96 has a bit more pep and starts quicker. I have noticed there are way more D2 posts on the forum, and parts seem easier to get.
