Question rear windows not working properly

I know about the ECU soldering but have not tried it yet. My REAR ISOLATOR SWITCH has no current at the plug. The switch itself had an OHM reading of .3. Not sure if it should be zero or not but I should have current at the plug right? Sometimes the front console rear switches will work the windows but the rear door switches are not working. Is there a short between the isolator switch and the rear switches or can someone say for sure it is the ECU? thanks

It is really simple to just pop the circuit board out of the ECU and reflow the solder joints. I am sure you have at least one less than optimal solder joint that is contributing if not the sole source of your rear windows not functioning properly. That is a whole lot more likely than a specific point shorting to another.

You can remove the board from the housing without unbolting the housing.
Pull the connector off and the circuit board will slide right out. Reflow all of the solder joints. That way the integrity of the solder joints is no longer in doubt.

With mine, there were two solder joints that had hairline cracks that were not very obvious, but if you applied slight finger pressure to the component lead, the defect was glaringly there staring you in the face.

Otherwise you are chasing ghosts.

rebelman....I have the directions and a simplified sketch of how to bypass the rear window ecu......it's an easy fix if you dont want to remove and solder the ecu. If you want I can fax them to you, just let me know.

Can you scan it and e-mail it to me so I can make a sticky out of it?
Also write up what to do, tools needed etc.

that's it
basically...you are finding the white wire w/pink tracer that goes to the window lift ecu....cut it and connect a jumper wire to the harness side ( NOT the ecu side) .
The other end of the jumper wire goes toward the wire harness near the hump in the floor by the heater....and TEES into the white wire w/green tracer. your'e done.

this bypasses the window lift ecu for the rear windows.

I have a crude sketch which I would fax anyone who needs it.....
And yes Spike ....as soon as things calm down here @ work I will send all of this to you for a sticky ?

We are working on a write up on this to repair this issue and add to the tech section.
