Default rear wiper not switching on, other wiring questions

Hi,
My rear wiper isnt activating for ether wash or wipe. It runs with a hot wire. I took the switch out and it looks clean. I didn't put it back yet since I am getting some new bulbs so I will clean all my switches and replace the bulbs. I have a shop manual but I don't have any sort of key for the wiring for my vehicle, what are available resources diagraming the wiring on my '97 disco? there are 4 wires one light my test lamp and if I jump it to any of the others the wiper doesn't turn on, fuse is good. would a bad relay make the wipers not work at all? Is there a test for the relay?

Also, I've never used my power sunroof. The PO said not to open it, it leaks, and there's duck tape residue on the roof. I'm in the process of learning all the things about my LR and today's rain will reveal a few things, I'm sure. my investigations show the big white wire going from the fuse box area up to the sunroof harness is cut with a yellow splice clip thing where it terminates right near the fuse box . before I knew it went to the sunroof I thought it was a relic of a aftermarket accessory no longer in use but what I'm wondering now is where is the other side that it is cut from and what was spliced to it? I've looked but I cant easily see anything it was connected to or splice to. Any ideas?

Another question is there is a fan control switch with my rear dome light. My headliner was painted and the map pockets were removed and the plastic bezel mount looks like it was cut from some bigger piece so I don't know how it looked originally and I haven't seen any reference pictures online that look similar to what I have now but the fan switch is wired to a harness. Its confusing because I don't see any rear air of any kind and my interior is basically stripped right now. I'm hoping to figure out what this switch is for and maybe what it looked like originally since I haven't seen any pictures with this switch in it.

Thanks

nearly any diagram you might need is in the google drive in my signature

sunroofs often leak for various reasons

sounds like your truck has/had rear a/c and the fan switch you mention would control that

Thanks Walt, your download is great resource. I’ve gotten more into the disco and the forum since my last post about the rear wiper. Still trying to actually fix some things but i feel like progress is being made. I am still at a loss on my rear wiper, it seems like must be module that controls it. I saw a post about testing using the rear defrost. I guess I should figure out if my rear defrost is working to perform the test but also it’s not clear what the test is. Sounds like if I initiate it it will go in order per going said functions and if a function doesn’t work the module needs replacing. Is this correct? Also I realized my front wipers seem to work fine, but if I turn the key off they just stop where they are rather than going to park. Is this normal and if it isn’t any idea what the nature of it is and are the fronts related at all to rear wipers? Also I tested the rear wiper relay for continuity and got nothing on the normally closed pins but I pulled a different green relay and it was the same way so I’m wondering if I have two bad relays or if I am remiss. It is a new thing for me using a multi meter to test electrical.

The rear wiper switch will pull directly out of the gauge surround. Literally, just pull it directly out. Then jump the wires that would otherwise be linked if the switch were 'on'. That'll tell you if it is simply the switch or some other wiring issue.

The switches are generally easy to clean/repair.

First thing I did was clean the switches but I was confused about the wires. Is it two wires do the light and two wires for the switch, I can’t remember how many wires there were I just remember knowing it had power. I suppose a multimeter could confirm continuity, I should start doing that with all the switches probably. Is there an easy way to know which pins are relevant to the lights and which are to the switch? Also, the wash switch washes but doesn’t wipe anymore…
