Repairing the VSS
I've seen quite a bit of chat about unidentified problems and the possibility of the VSS being the cause.
Because the previous owner of my truck sold it because of these types of complaints, I was very interested in the VSS. I bought one on Ebay to rip apart, and when I found how easy it was to work on, and what was wrong with it, I took the one out of my truck, did the same and documented it.

My guess is that at this point, most of these trucks need this rebuild whether or not you've seen the symptoms.
I'll be revising this if I can find a more suitable part, and I'll update the thread if that happens.

Definately goes in the Tech Section... This is the kind of stuff I live for..
Repair rather than replace.. Knowing in advance how this works can make a field repair easily possible...
I may rebuild mine just for grins... Picking up washers at home depot next time I'm over there..
Good Work !

I rebuilt my VSS on Monday with the directions gprtech posted and it went exactly as described. The only thing that was a pain was putting the VSS back in the car. Not a lot of room to maneuver. Thanks for the tech help. My car has not sputtered or hesitated once since Monday.
