Wink

Just a quick check in... I did some online browsing, and found this pack of Nylon Washers that is the closest match to what gprtech has for the original dimensions

Original washer dimensions:

Inside Diameter - 0.257" or 6.52 mm
Outside Diameter - 0.56" or 14.22 mm
Thickness - 0.067" or 1.7 mm

New Nylon Flat washer dimensions found on Amazon:

Inside Diameter - 0.26" or 6.6 mm
Outside Diameter - 0.562" or 14.27 mm
Thickness - 0.062" or 1.57 mm

Link can be
found here found here
... hope this is right and helps and at $6.18 it could not hurt

Also I believe this 1996 Suzuki LT-F160 QUADRUNNER 2X4 OEM Washer kit is very close to the original size

Inside Diameter - 6.5 mm
Outside Diameter - 14 mm
Thickness - 2.3 mm

Found here for under $2

Rebuilt my spare today guess we will see how long it lasts, I see why it fails, unsealed greased part another stupid rover idea

Maybe they figured the oil leaks would keep it lubed lol

gprtech was kind enough to send me a link of the bearing he used instead of the washer. I hope I am not overstepping here, but I thought I would share his message and the link

"they're not an exact fit, you have to add a bit of shim stock around the outer edge. I don't know the size"

NEW Duratrax Bearing 1/4x3/8 Flanged (2) DTXC1433 NIB

Hope this is helpful

i would have to see pics installing that, can't visulize it installed

I pulled the vss on my rover and the vss broke apart part was stuck in the trans, pryed that out and whole speed assembly popped out of trans, had to then remove the brok part and reinstall that and rebuilt vss ugh is nothing easy on my rover

So payed off getting vss from pull, but my speed is still off by 5 MPH, maybe wrong gear in trans? My original vss bolt was loose making me think trans replaced?

My Disco speedometer is about 5mph slow, according to the garmin GPS unit.

There's no adjustment on the speedomter.

re: My Disco speedometer is about 5mph slow

So I wonder how this skews our mpg as the odometer is likely also "off" ?

The VSS/tail ouput is geared for a 205 R16 tire. 235's are the optional tire. You'd find that the gearing is spot on with the 205's. Most early RR/RRC came to our shores initially with 205's. We wanted bigger so they shipped most with the 235's and the 205's becoming the option. Michelin had XPC's in both sizes. With my 235 XPC's I'm 3 mph slower than the needle.

so unlike USA cars there is no optional speed gear for larger tire size? Gotta love the brits

So how is it my speed is off by 5 but the ultra gauge has the correct speed? Ug and GPS display same speed

My speedo reads 66 when I'm running 60. Figure it will keep me from getting a speeding ticket. When I jump up to 35s my speedo should be about right with the 4.12 gears.

I recall when I bought my Discovery, I had the stock tire size and the strange thing is with my GPS unit at the time that my speedometer was off.

When I went to the 245/75/r16 my speedo was right on the money with the gps device, and I checked and rechecked on numerous trips...
