I have been thinking about switching to g12 for some time now.. Maybe next time I do a flush. My GF put green in the Passat once and now it needs a new heater core and has been flushed 100x trust me I wasnt happy, she learned only water from now on unless it's below freezing then it's AAA time
Uggh.. passat heater cores are fuuuun.. i've been putting off the one in mine for some time. pulling the dash vs topping up the coolant once a week.. hrmm been going the lazy route. mine's leaking where the hose meets the pipe so it just drips into the raintray..

Anyhow, back on topic.. great job on getting the lifter tick sorted. 375 for the distro kit vs 600 for the coilpack one is a bit tough to swallow..

I know. VW and Audi abandoned that technology long ago.

that's my mechanic was worried about...timing. don't you have to take the front cover off to adjust that?

No. You set up timing before you reinstall the cover. There is no adjusting the chain, cam gear or crank gear after that. You can adjust the distributor timing after with a timing light. Follow rave, I did and it was easy.

Just cleaned the IACV and took its first real test drive, HOLY ****!!!
I had no idea you can take off from a green light and go faster than everyone else.
Seriously big difference!

congrats Brad. I need to follow your lead and get mine done. Probably not too different for 4.0.
