Default Replacing Charcoal evap canister 97 disco

SO what I am wondering is if these lines - in/out send/return - whatever. Are they pressurized? Can I just crimp the fuel lines and change out the part. Its coming tomorrow in the mail. Another angle on this is the one reason the check engine light is on is cause it needs a new evap canister. Anyhow would I need to unhook battery to restart computer or do I need reset maneuver? Thanks for anyhelp you could give. Love this rig, its a tank. TT

Not sure how successful you will be on clearing codes that way, I use my scanner. There is not appreciable pressure on the lines with fuel pump off, gas tank cap off, and fuel vented from injection system (schrader valve on passenger side fuel rail, depress with rag to catch fuel).

Default Thanks for the info.

I know I am dealing with the newer rectangular style canister and with this info I am confident. Scanner probably not to expensive anyway. I have noticed the comm port and it seems to be a popular accessory. Thank You. KOVTT

Before you buy a scanner consider the Ultra Gauge, which does both. See UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool
