Changed plugs and wires. Went with basic, cheap Champions. Found two plugs that where rusty as hell. #6 wire is shown. Core was way up in insulation. 6 out of 8 ain't too bad. :-)
Running great since. Got 16+ mpg last tank. :-D

I started at 8AM this morning looking for a wire set locally, just finished up plug wires and sparklers while dead tired from long work week. Made my own wires (both ends) for $30 from NAPA, carbon core (not my first choice). They had wire core but only in 6 cylinder wire sets. Cleaned MAF too. My last tank I took a big hit under 200 miles, lowest I've ever let the motor condition take it down. Normal is 350+ miles per tank. Took me rest of day to get it just right. No more cash out the tailpipe and the idle came down to 675 instead of 1100. These ECU's can make up for allot of slop to keep the motor running. Four wires shot, fireworks show. The others had faint leaks you could see in the dark. Plug gaps at .40 which wasn't bad but over 30k on em after a couple of re-gaps, round center electrodes. Took the truck out for a short blow out and definitely working on all cylinders, hit 70 in no time. Just cheap ol Champions and 7mm make your own wires, not bad. Beat. Gonna eat, watch a movie and sleep in tomorrow.
Wanted it done, don't know what the future is gonna toss my way (work). No excuses, could've paid more attention. Turned out neat, tidy and stock. Come Monday morning I get to flog my artwork. Kingsborne, completely forgot that name, found every other brand..... STI for $70, they too well under margin for pre-made 8mm.
I grabbed some CarQuest wires. They had some. Well, one set in the district.
So now that it is running good, the rear defrost comes on at start up and will not go off. Nifty.
E201 is the ground for that whole gang of switches, relays and the multifunction unit. The relay, which might be stuck/shorted through that ground post, is K122.
Yep, was just looking over the electrical diagram for the Multi-Function Unit. After reading the circuit operation and diagnostics, I recall hearing a single beep when the key was turned to the "on" position. Think I'll tinker with the switch, ground, and relay.
