Default Mileage seems funny on Odometer!!!

All,
Has anyone noticed that their Odometer seems to be reporting more miles on it than what you expected? I have done the math and verified it with Google Maps...I drive 30 miles every day for work...I'll put on another 100 maybe each weekend (this is an overshot)...and my odometer is reporting that I have been almost 3000 miles in the last month and a half which I am estimating is about 800 miles over what I have actually driven. WTF??? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated!

if you are using other than stock size tires or wheels that might cause it. Also those maps are estimates and could be off by as much as 20%. The maps calculate distance in straight line not calculating if a road has a curve which makes the road longer, also hills make the road longer, driving in the outside lane around a curve makes it longer etc. etc. etc. Also keep in mind trips through parking lots like when you go to store. Mine registers the same 5.3 miles to work as my chevy truck does and the same 10.2 to school as my truck does. Driving long distance from Oklahoma to Tennesee the truck said 984.7 and the Land rover said 982.0, not that big of a difference considering all th variables. this is in a 95 disco, versus a 92 chevy truck.

Before you change anything check the mpg.
I know that my odometer is 6.5% off and my
speedometer is on the money using my gps.
Check to see if you know someone with a GPS it will be the fastest way.

I have 245/75-16 tires that are almost 31" tall.
My speedometer is right now. Most speedometers are 3 to 4 miles per hr slow; 55 is 51 to 52 mph.
My odometer is not showing all my miles now ; 100 miles is 106.5 miles
