Default Seats!

So I just got home from my little 180mi trip (only used just under half a tank btw).

I managed to obtain for $250:

Back glass (install should be fun)

Another factory radio (gotta call land rover and get the secret code)

random odds and ends, spare tire lugs, owners manual, seatbelts...

And 2 Front seats (this is where the issue comes in)

My 96 Disco has power seats, without the grab handle things. The seats that I pulled from the donor 96 has manual seats with grab handle things.

Is there anyway to convert the manual seats to powered seats? Will they even fit? I dont mind making some hybrid seats using the manuals leather over the powered foam and frame if even possible. I really like the grab handles, but I also like the power.

Any suggestions?

I would assume swapping the skins would be the easiest option.

I don't think you can. I think you would have to do a LOT of retrofitting for it to work.

I did it! Although only for the drivers side at the moment. I used the base from the power seat the skin from the manual seat for the bottom. the I took and removed the recline mechanism from the manual seat. then took the new base I had made and put the entire back piece from the manual with the recline mech. removed and put them together.

It took some grinding, a little drilling, and a lot of thinking to get it to work but it did and I now have nice non-ripped seats. Ill post some pics in a bit
