Hi,

My '97 Disco (74k miles) has leaned about 1/2-1 inch to the passenger side since I bought it about 5 years ago. It had 58k on it when I bought it from a friend, who wasn't sure what the issue was.

I had the shocks replaced (they were ready), which drastically improved the ride, but the lean was unaffected. The car has not been in an accident.

I have also seen a couple old posts about leaning Discoverys, but nothing seems conclusive about the cause.

Tired springs or other suspension parts? Something else?

I would say its worn springs. Mine had about 3/4-1" lean to the passenger side until I put lift springs under it, now it sets level.... Usually about 60k mile the springs are shot on these trucks.

The factory springs wear and sag unevenly so leaning to one side is very common. That is the reason quality aftermarket springs are side specific with slightly to different springs rates to compensate for the vehicle's natural tendency to lean one way.

 

Maybe the better half was the bigger half?

Put some good OME springs on it, it'll sit much better.

 

Along those lines, I've read posts that say the factory put 100# heavier spring in driver's front to compensate for driver weight.
