Smoking Disco
I switch fuel brands every time I fill up... I just don't get why I'm not getting other codes if it's running rich
I am not sure why so many people are guessing on this issue. He is blowing white smoke, not blue or black, white is water or coolant not fuel. He has no fuel, 02 or ECU failure related codes. Time to go back to the drawing board and rethink this one.
He said on the last page it was white and blue. so he is burning some oil. knowing the vehicles history i thought at first it was a headgasket but with no loss of power and/or coolant that rules that out. maybe water got in the gas tank and fouled the engine that way?
My plugs are carbon fouling causing the misfires. Will check spark again to rule out coil. I'm thinking it's rings or valve guide seaLs but since it only happens during acceleration leads me to think rings. However - good compression and smoke not happening all the time is throwing that out the window. Only other thing that will black foul plugs is fuel which would make sense under acceleration but doesn't abide by disco mikes smoke color chart. What controls fuel regulation under acceleration?
Well ladies? I'm stumped... Back to the basics again!

Water could not get into the fuel unless the gas cap were off. It can't get in thru the evap system with out throwing an evap fault.
This is going to be an interesting one to figure out.

Yea and doubt truck would run with water in tank. My local Lr shop told me to drive it and see what comes of it. One tech recommended ATF in crank case. If all else fails I may do that and compression test it again see if it's rings.
