Looking good. What is the mesh source?

It's a new genuine LR Saudi grill Lucky ebay find for $300. I needed a new one anyways since the old was cracked and broken all over. Will post pic of it on vehicle too. Told the paint shop guy I was glad it turned out right because who knows how many are left. They almost painted it the wrong color.

The opening edge is covered with protective rubber edge stripping all around. The wire mesh is a removable panel with a metal frame at the edges. It's secured to the main grill by 2 screws and a metal bracket per each of the 4 sides.

Theoretically it should be possible to take a stock grill and modify it to fit the mesh panel, brackets, and edge strip. Only the center would have to be cut out and a few holes drilled for the securing screws.

i made that rubber strip cutting strips of rubber off my mudflaps. it gives it a better appearance. funny and no offense on your awesome find, i prefer eric's rainguard material to that of the original...and my choice. Mine is hardware net that looks like the original but with smaller squares. I painted mine flat black but the others here are better imo.

the pic doesn't show the rubber strip improvement and it's not secured so its bending a little. the strip will help hold it more securely and flat imo. i need to photo it and put it in the truck already.

300 bucks.... It cost you exactly 1/2 of what I paid for my entire truck

I see "I can buy a whole new used disco for what (insert part) cost!" all the time.

Yeah, well it's still going to have an old busted *** (insert part)

Anyways, it's a drop in the bucket for what it's cost so far.

I love the look of the grill, I have a few extras laying around, I think I'll try to make one myself.
