So what did you do to your Disco today?

Replaced the leaking oil cooler lines. A moderate pain in the ***, would have been completely tolerable except that I managed to cross thread the last of the four fittings, the one going up into the block next to the oil filter. Maybe it was already buggered, I don't know, it started easily by hand then got difficult. Now it leaks even though tightened hard. Will have to restore the threads somehow.

Yes, thanks, the o-ring was replaced. When it leaked, I knew the problem was buggered up threads. I disassembled it and replaced the provided o-ring with one slightly fatter hoping that would work. It didn't. I'm hoping a thread chaser will straighten things out enough to work, otherwise I'll have to think harder. Hate when a simple thing turns into a nasty problem.

Driving home from work at 11PM, the heater fan quit working. temps outside were just below 0, and I made it home but I was a bit cold to say the least. Yesterday I pulled the control apart and found the fan switch had melted and is beyond repair. I used a couple of jumper wires to make it blow full blast for now. Had to change to larger wires as the ones I first used got a bit warm (not melted, just warm) Temp outside should be up to around 10 degrees today.... Anyone got an extra switch laying around??

With temps this morning above 30 degrees, (and a 17 mph wind) I was out in the snowbanks installing a new (to me) fan switch. I am getting faster at taking apart the center console, which worries me a bit, but switch is in and works great! now on to the other bazillion things to get working on my truck...

Cleaned the MAF
I cleaned my MAF and replaced the air filter. The Rover's throttle response had been hesitating when cold lately but was fine after it warmed up a bit. I was searching for some troubleshooting tips based on the behavior, and came across my own post from > 5 years ago. LOL

The light bulb then went on in my head! It seemed like I had just cleaned the MAF, but nope. So all is good again and throttle response is great.
