Had to replace the timing cover gasket. I had a major water leak! Luckily not into the engine, only out.

Then found the lower hose plastic connections and thermostat housing are ready to crumble. So ordered the replacements and will replace as soon as they come in.

I have all that plus a safari rack, tie rods, rod ends, drag link, Defender steering stablizer conversion, D2 front drive shaft conversion, plugs, and wires to do before Saturdays run.
I got most of it done, The brakes, rack and extended lines is all thats left to do on my list before this weekend.

Well I got out there early before the rains would start and replaced my 1996 rear view mirror that had leaked - I don't know how many years ago - with one from a 2000 Disco with the electronic compass and Home Link in it.

Re-wired and re-programmed the Home Link and it works great.

Not much I know but I've been sick with a chest cold for a few days and haven't been able to get outside.

Tested out my spacers by stuffing the wheels. Success! I can keep them.

Finished up my shocks install. I managed to pick up some FJ80 coils when a couple of other spring options fell through for me. Can I post pics using my iPhone?

Found a rad shop to clean what I suspect to be a horribly dirty radiator. Checked on a vibration from front end I blame on balding mud tires. Then I took her out on the river bottoms showing off the rovers articulation and 100" wheelbase following around a new John deer 825i (nice little utv) until I found an area too compact for the rover to get through, I only figured that out after kissing the river birch on the left front with my left front fender wing. Well it's another trail scar and can be pulled and buffed out. Always seem to kiss these river birch trees on these skinny bottom trails. Also confirmed leaky cooler hoses as well and confirmed coolant leakage at top rad hose and thermo elbow(why can't I stop this leak? grr) Anyone in or near Memphis up for wheeling the bottoms? I get tired of wheeling with and pulling out the jeeps and Z71s that think they can keep up. Also getting needs/ parts list ready for work to be done to rover before Nov 3rd Arkansas rover society meet in hot springs AR at superlift orv park!!! oh yeah it's gonna be fun again I hope not to blow out another diff, but that just shows how much fun I really had! I really love this event lots of comrodderie, rover/ range talk, and tons of participants from newbie off roaders to hard core rigs. Singles, families, kids. Took my baby and she had a blast laughing at near vertical climbs( while mommy cringed ) as daddy made rover go over the hills. Best 4x4xFAR! Hope to see some folks from here make it to AR for this event lots of fun things raffle that supports local childrens hospital that included winches, bumpers, roof top tent, suspension parts, recovery packages, lighting. There were at least 40-50 rovers and rover families having a blast and at spring rally even witnessed a d1 flip down a 4**** hill( family of 4, dad and three kids no injuries mom was smart and waited at the bottom. Got it right side up down to the bottom and she started right up!

Fishy, what tire size? How big of spacer? Just a camel cut? This gives me hope for 235/85 w/ spacers.
