SOLUTION: lug wrench bending

breaker bar NEVER leaves the truck...that being said, steel wheel lug nuts are 10x easier to remove.

Yep. Tire shops, previous owners etc. I am lucky I have an 88 RRC with solid lugs and my D1 has steel rims. I faught like hell to get the rear lugs off my RRC.. Going to need a bigger impact to get the fronts off.

Gonna tackle the rear wheels next... checking bearings and brakes. I'm almost certain my "hardened" lug wrench will do just fine! :-)

I haven't got the socket yet, but probably should as a backup plan anyway. Redundancy never hurts when you're out in the middle of nowhere... or 110' below water and in a cave system for that matter.
