Speedo Issue
I know this is a no bainer, but I don't like buying parts w/out a second opinion/confirmation: My speedo started a couple weeks ago fluctuating +/- 1-2mph when holding a steady speed. Now it will hold a steady speed but pretty regularly the needle will drop 5-10mph and immediatly shoot right back up.
VSS???
P.S. I checked all the easy to get at wiring/connections for tightness/corrosion first. To replace the vss, does the parking brake drum have to come off??

MY truck did the same thing, I replaced the vss and all was well after that. Unplug the wire harness on it, one allen head bolt holds it in the case.....with the right combination of ratchet-extension-allen head socket---it will come right out (or at least it SHOULD). A fairly easy job,( and NO you dont have to operate on the brake drum) the hardest part is parting with the $175.00 for a handfull of plastic gadgetry and figuring out the right combination of tools. Good luck
Luckily, I have owned my Rover long enough to be prepared for the sticker(price) shock of parts. Haven't priced one yet, so thanks for the heads up!
Ohh, just looked it up on rovahfarm.com- are you sitting down? $75
