Default Speedometer mystery...

I know millions of people have posted about this problem, and I hate to be one more person, but...I need some help. I can only hope that I can clearly explain this, issue/question.

I did some experimenting...

I have several Discoveries, all with LT265/75R16 and with the Transducer Speed Sensor AMR1253, and sadly, all of the speedometers are "off." BUT, one of the Discoveries speedometers is perfectly accurate (and it has the LT265/75R16), the key difference is that it has Transducer Speed Sensor YBE 100540.

The question is, I just bought another Rover that has been regeared and also has LT265/75R16, now, when I bought it, it had the Transducer Speed Sensor AMR1253 and the speedometer was extremely off, so I switched it to the YBE100540, and now it is only within 5 MPH, which must be because it has been re-geared... so, what is the difference between the YBE100540 and the AMR1253?

Also, does a solution exist to fix the speedometer on a Disco with larger tires and that has been re-geared?

Thank you!

The YBE100540 is for a Defender with 4.0L. Defenders wear 265's as stock tire size.
