Default Speedometer problems

Just had a problem develop on my Disco.
Driving yesterday (in very warm weather) and the speedo started to twitch and then dropped to zero.
It came back for a few miles, but for most of my driving yesterday it was dead.
Worked for a few miles this morning then dropped to zero again.

Is this a fault anyone else has come across - is it easy to fix?
(I'm an electronics engineer, but useless under a bonnet!)

A while back I had a similar problem with the tacho and with help from this forum was able to fix it.
Hopefully, I can do the same again...

Thanks in advance.
Steve

Default RE: Speedometer problems

I would think that it might be the speed censer, but that is a guess, if I am not mistaken and I hope I am not, you might want to check to see if the wire that leads into your transmission is intack, or loose, last year I had the same problem and I climbed under the rover and just pulled on the wire just a bit and it has worked ever since. However, here is the problem, I don't know for sure if that was the cause of the problem. but it worked what ever I did under there.

good luck
