Steering " Dead Spots" and a leak - 96 Discovery
A couple of months ago I replaced all the seals on my steering box and replaced the PS hoses. All was great until a few days ago. I feel a couple of "dead spots" like the power steering is not working. It doesn't happen every time I drive but does happen often. It may lasts for a few seconds.
The odd thing with the dead spots is that there is always drops of steering fluid shortly thereafter. It is coming from one the 4 bolts on top of the gear box. Specifically, the one closest to the front. All are tight but I guess there is a gasket I didn't replace!
Any thoughts? I do not want to spend my Saturday removing the steering box again.
Thanks for the help.

as far as the gasket goes, there's a square-cut o-ring under the cap on the top, been there...........
.....if the leak was bad enough you could get a "momentary " issue I suppose, but more likely the box has some wear internally
