Default Steering Issues Loud Popping Noise with U turns

Hello I just bought another 96 D1 119 Mi. I purchased it down in mexico/San Diego Ca area . So it's been worked on by Who knows who. Heres the steering issue. When making a u turn at the one point there is a Loud Pop Noise. I went under and found that near the Pitman arm there is another part that I cant find in Rave. I have attached a picture. Would this be the problem. Do I have to replace the arm or just some bushings or ??

Dunno but it looks new. It's not the panhard rod. Can you get a pic that's not as close up?

Looks like its the brace for the steering box. I dont know if you can replace a bushing or not. On my 99 its all solid one piece where it looks like yours has a bushing.

Better spend some more time under there, I'll bet nearly every bushing is shot along with a tie rod or two and a ball joint.

2x on checking EVERYTHING out, odds are though that the cv joints encased in the swivel ***** are dry or going bad...do the search...it's fairly easy to add lube to them and it probably needs to be done anyway...when I got my truck ..one was completely dry and rusted....a lot of snap-crackle-pop on the turns. let us know what you find
