do you have pictures of the install? thats a double DIN unit, curious as to how you put it in and what it looks like.

 

I will post pics once I'm completely done. The plastic trim piece housing where the old stereo use to sit(houses heater control,vents etc etc) had to get trimmed. Basically no more thin plastic bar separating the heater panel and stereo. This plastic is old and brittle so some of it cracked but is still fixable. Once I have the annoying buzz fixed, I will permanently mount it and fix the plastic (maybe fiberglass repair) or get a brand new trim piece and cut to the specs I need. The metal tab attached to the body in there that supported the stock stereo did have to get trimmed back some to. Die grinder works perfect for that. Fits in perfectly with no interference to the heater controls or anything else. Just need to adjust trim to look nice.

 

I'm very interested in seeing the results of the double din install too. Been mulling over possible ideas in my head for weeks now. And I'm sick of my crappy, ground loopy, only works out of one speaker stock stereo.

 

All done and here are the pics you guys requested. Made the top trim out of a scrap piece of partical board and use door edge protector as the leading/trailing edge. Not too bad.. I'm getting a dash mat anyways but wanted to clean it up while I wait for it to get here. System sounds great, is secure and looks good.
