Default strange headlight behavior

- When 'parking' lights are on, driver's side looks proper, passenger not illuminated

- When low beams are on, driver's side looks quite dim (but brighter than parking) while passenger side looks normal.

- When brights are selected, driver's side is incrementally brighter, but far from normal. Passenger side is normal (for high beam).

I just replaced the bulbs hoping that would do it but alas, it did not fix the problem.

I've read that the switch can go bad and I figure that is the culprit, but would love to get the collective input of the esteemed members of this message board.

before you spend money......remove the 3-prong connectors @ the bulbs and check/ clean them......also "wiggle" them while the lights are on to see if any of this makes a difference....they arent always sealed all that well and prone to corrosion...it's worth a try

I agree, remove all connectors and clean them good first. I was just reading theRAVE yesterday and noticed that they call for Petroleum Jelly to be used on the electrical connections to help keep water out. I guess Vaseline works in a lot of unusual applications.

I recently had to replace my headlight switch due to a problem where the instrument cluster and tail lights would go off at tke headlight on position (last click). My switch was shot. Got a good one from Will Tillery for $65 bucks shipped.
