Default D1 Manual Transmission: strange behavior

I have a 96 disco with a 5-speed manual, and I'm having trouble diagnosing my current problem...

The clutch is acting less "responsive" than usual (not slipping)

To shift I have to apply throttle, put in clutch, wait a second for the RPM's to drop (that's the weird part), then shift.

I was thinking it may be the syncromesh gears (which I'm guessing are internal) but yesterday the clutch was "stuck" half-engaged for a few seconds until I pumped it once quickly so now I'm thinking maybe it's a clutch-engagement issue.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a clutch master or slave starting to go. Replace them in pairs if that's the case.

Yup, sounds like the MC or SC. And yes to replacing both (unless one has just recently been replaced). I'd also do the flex line.

That tranny is also know for syncro issues and in some cases, shift for problems.

Yeah it hasn't been the best manual transmission I've used, that's for sure.

I'll consult RAVE per bleeding the system...

When it's the syncros you don't need to pump the clutch.
