Stupid clock question.

Here is a few pics showing which wires go where and the tabs on the top and bottom that hold the clock in place. Feeler gauges work very well to remove the clock. Notice the top right tab is inset from the edge and not directly above the bottom right tab. It lights up and dims with the dash lights. Keeps good time and looks right for the vehicle. Very easy to adjust the time, just turn the wheel.

Derek, so looks like you didn't need the extra green wire going into the harness from the digital and just connected the purple, red and black correct?

It's an RRC analog clock. I'm going to put mine in this week. Got mine from Paul, there are a few floating around.

did you tear apart a vdo clock and put it in or?...

Yep, I didn't need the green wire for the analog clock. I think the green wire is for the digital display and is hot when you turn the key. The clock is from a range rover. Fits perfectly. I think I paid $15 for it on ebay.
