Stuttering when started
make CERTAIN you don't have either a large vacuum leak, or several small ones. those will lead to loss of Vacuum and thus make your fuel pressure regulator not operate properly.
trust me, I know.
It didn't happen to me

sounds exactly like what i had...started every now and then because of fuel in the engine. though pump was bad so went to replace that and found one of the four wires on the connection at pump powering it was corroded and snapped off. replaced my wiring harness and all better.
I just did my fuel pump and filter a couple of weeks ago. Check for fuel pressure at the valve on the fuel rail. It's a dead give away. My truck started right up after I came to get the wife after she broke down, but it didn't last long.
Well this morning I did find a vacuum leak. The hose that runs from the right side of the plenum chamber to the right rocker cover had a hole in it. I plan to get this replaced this afternoon, but does anybody know what this is for. I just want to know if this could be the cause of my problem.
