Get a can of electrical contact cleaner spray and spray a little into the switch and move the switch between the speeds a few times itll start working fine. I have to do mine about once a year for doing the same thing.

Cleaning my fan has been on my list of things to do and thanks to this thread I realized how easy it actually was to remove. Pulled it out, cleaned out the crap, popped it back in and my A/C is back to 100% just in time for summer! Gotta love this forum.

Do you need to remove the cover etc? Or do you mean just pop the plastic **** off the slider and spray?

I've taken the fash apart too many times. Really don't want to do it again unnecassarily.

Others have suggested making your own "air filter" for the air intake under the windshield wiper plastic cowling. I have heard that a piece of that very coarse plastic scrub pad mateial can be cut to fit. That would keep out most of the leaves and bugs.
