Default Switch Pack - Momentary Switch

Hello,

I was wondering if any of the switches that mount into the two or three gang center switch packs are momentary switches as opposed to on/off locking switches? I'd like to wire one up to a garage door opener and a momentary switch would be useful.

Thanks,

E

It's a parking deck so the home link thing doesn't work.

If you mean the window switches, they are momentary. Any of the latching type switches can be modified to be momentary by removing the inner latching link.

Hey John, thanks for the idea. I was trying to break into one of the switches but am having trouble getting it open without obliterating any of the tabs. Do you have any tips or tricks to make this modification?

Thanks!

understood. how about using one of the homelink buttons as a momentary switch? Wiring is probably not as convenient I suppose.

I slide a toothpick or such under a tab. Could be small screwdriver blades or a stiff card or a knife, whatever works to raise the tab up just enough. If one breaks, some tape or wire tie might be needed to hold it back together.
