Default Windows acting up

In January of this year I soldered my window ecu so I could use my rear windows, which worked 100% until yesterday. Of course right before a rain storm I couldn’t get my rear windows to go up even though my front ones functioned just fine. I looked on the forum to find out how to jump the motor and successfully rolled them up for the trip home, but when I got in the car this morning none of my windows work except for my front passenger window, which only goes down. When I eventually get home I plan on switching out the window ecu with the one from my parts truck but that poses another issue, after I soldered the ecu I have never been able to get the top clip back out, no matter how much I try. If anyone knows what may have happened or has any idea how to get this too clip out I’d greatly appreciate it

Default Update

I removed the ecu fully, for anyone wondering to remove the smaller upper clip with the push button on it you just have to push the clip in and pull the plug a little bit. Once it’s moved slightly grab the plug and pull really, really hard. You just have to nudge it past the lock and then yank it out. I re soldered the ecu but ran into the same problem, no windows work except for the passengers front, and it will only run the window down. I pulled the window ecu from my parts truck, touched it up with solder and put it into this truck and that seems to have solved the problem, for now at least

I searched for a while and found one to use as a spare. all soldered up and ready to go on the shelf. Seems the always fail at the worse time.

Yeah of course it hasn’t rained all season and as soon as it breaks there’s a storm rolling in. The one that was in my rover wasn’t repaired by my soldering, the pins for the connector were loose and separated. I wonder if my soldering job just wasn’t sufficient or if I ruined it when trying to remove the plug for an hour.

I picked up a wifi digital microscope and it transmits to my phone to look real close to all the solder joints. makes it quite easy to see any cracks. Useful for other projects too.

Amazon Amazon

for $30, it was worth it to me.
