Default Temp Sensor Possibly Bad?

I've notice from the day I bought my Disco that the Rad fan always comes on when I first start the truck (cold engine). I always thought it was a bit odd seeing as how, well the engine is cold.

I was thinking a bad temp sensor and planning on replacing it, then I heard that some vehicles are actually setup that way and it is normal.

Anyone comment on the Disco? Does theres do the same?

There are a few things we need to clear up first.
One, the clutch fan will be locked up and be fully engaged when you first start the engine after it has sat all night/day.
this is perfectly normal and is what is to be expected from a mechanical fan.

Second, if you are talking about the electric fans then no, they only come on when the a/c is on or the truck is in a overheat situation.

The clutch is has no "sensor", it is either good or bad, if it is bad it will either run all the time (be loud all the time) or it will free wheel all the time, in other words not move any air.
If either of those is the case read up in the tech section for the cheap fix.
