Hi, new here. been reading a lot on this forum since I bought this car a month back
How it looked when I bought it. New wheels and springs in front and other minor fixes.
The ride was just to rough (for what I am using the car for) with the big wheels and the suspension just way too hard in front.
With the new tires its drives really well and is way quicker and I gained about 150km (almost a 100 miles) on a full tank of gas !
I changed the old 2 lift (yellow springs) in the front for a set of Terrafirma Light Duty 2 springs and the ride got a little softer but it is still much harder in the front than in the back. If I push on the rear bumper it will give and bounce back but the front almost does not move.... Is this how the light duty springs is supposed to be? The TF springs measured longer than the old ones and is easier to compress when not fitted. The car is really fun to drive on tarmac but does not take bumps good ... PO installed Britpart shocks all around and almost all bushes are poly. I am starting to suspect the shocks ... Maybe I will try disconnecting them in the front and bounce the car.
sorry for the long post but would really appreciate any thoughts on the suspension for this car. Not planning on a winch or heavy bumper. Mostly driven empty.
I had TF light duty on my D1 (front & back) with TF Pro Sport shocks. They behaved exactly as you described.
I switched to "King" springs, much better for me. (still use the same shocks)
Saar.
