Tire selection
I have a 96 Disco and need tires. My budget is kinda low which is making it difficult to find something I want. I am looking for an all terrain that could allow the occasional off road trip (light duty). I am at stock ride height.
Can someone look at these and let me know if they would work? The load index is 107 and they are 4 ply which seem low.

If anyone has any other ideas let me know. I am open to used but it seems difficult to find used A/T's in good shape.

Jason,
I would definitely stay away from the one on EBAY. The Disco is a two ton vehicle, if you put a weak fourply tire on it, you will not be happy at all.
I like the ones that Spike refers, also love those TA K/O's on that website. I was looking for the K/O's locally and could not find any, I went with Bridgestone Dueler's when they were on sale at Sears.
I know the Sam's Warehouse in Monroeville has a good selection of tires at pretty good prices. There is a large tire dealer my son knows somewhere around Pittsburgh where he just got some used 22 inch tires for his Surburban really cheap. I was surprised he got a good set for less than 150 that had recently been replaced for looks alone. The guy wanted a different pattern, tread was fine.

No you do not need a "E" load rating.
My tires are only a 4 ply tire, I would have liked a 6 ply but I bought online and had no idea what load rating I was getting.
My tires handle well and are wearing great.
I VERY rarely drive faster than 65 mph and so far I have not had any issues with them getting to hot.
I have the Cooper Discoverer S/T

I have been looking at tires also recently, I like the hankooks spike recomended, but would also consider the general grabber A/T2, and the michelin LTX A/T2( A little more money but have great reveiws for milage, people getting 90,000 miles and more)
I've had these for almost two years & love 'em - 245/70/16 - stock suspension - very minor rub right turn to the lock over bumps.
