Close... The switch is separate from the linkage; they are not attached. The plunger in the switch is contacted by the diff lock shifter internal component when the shifter is moved between diff lock engaged/not engaged. You can see that in the video in the upper right portion... the plunger is shiny enough to see in the vid.
