Close... The switch is separate from the linkage; they are not attached. The plunger in the switch is contacted by the diff lock shifter internal component when the shifter is moved between diff lock engaged/not engaged. You can see that in the video in the upper right portion... the plunger is shiny enough to see in the vid.

So, IHScouts made an accurate call. Nice follow-up by WaltNYC with the vid to show you what IHScout was telling you.
